Heritage Records Online was developed to provide public access to the National Trust's Historic Environment Records. Here, you can view information on all known historic buildings, archaeological sites and monuments looked after by the National Trust.  As new research is conducted and new discoveries made, the records will be updated and available on Heritage Records Online. You can use the word or map search to learn more about the historic environment of our places.

Please note: The information shown on this website is from an ever-evolving National Trust database, records may have been created from various sources and therefore, some of the records could contain inaccurate and out-of-date information.

The National Trust is a charity and completely independent of Government. We rely for income on membership fees, donations and legacies, and money raised from commercial operations. We are supported by 4.2 million members and over 60,000 volunteers without whom we simply could not manage. We protect and open to the public over 350 historic houses, gardens and ancient monuments. But it doesn't stop there. We also look after forests, woods, fens, beaches, farmland, downs, moorland, islands, archaeological remains, castles, nature reserves, villages - protecting special places for ever, for everyone.
